Ellen Kaufman

Youth Apprenticeship and Marketing Coordinator, Trident Technical College

Ellen Kaufman is the Youth Apprenticeship and Marketing Coordinator for Charleston Regional Youth Apprenticeships at Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC.

Since joining the TTC team in 2015 and becoming the CRYA program's full-time coordinator in 2017, she has seen it grow from 13 apprentices, six companies and one pathway to more than 200 active apprentices, 20+ occupations and 180 employer partners. She guides students from recruitment through registration and the two-year program, working with families, school districts, TTC faculty and staff, and external stakeholders. She spent more than 20 years in newspapers as a writer and editor, which comes in handy when there is an apprentice to brag about or a good story to tell.
